Redheart Two-Year-Old Geldings – Bum High…
Redheart Reality and Redheart Regent, our two-year-old geldings, both bum high and just over 15.1hh…
As a child I was brought up on a working farm in Cwmbran, South Wales. I used to spend my days pulling up docks in the fields, creosoting the fences, white washing the stables and washing out the water tanks in order to have a pony.
I obtained many other rides in my early teenage days and learnt a little from each one. Every horse was different in size, nature, ability and scope. I very quickly learnt how to achieve the very best from that individual in whatever discipline.
At the age of eighteen I headed off to West Oxfordshire carrying on my education in land management and business studies in the Thoroughbred world. During this time many doors opened,
In 1997 a vacancy at a National Hunt Trainer in Gloucestershire opened a new chapter in my life with the availability of stables and land located nearby. Confidently starting training and competing point to pointers as a hobby.
2007 I started working at The Three Counties Equine Hospital LLP. This has been the most enjoyable and rewarding place of work. I am proud to be part of a dedicated team moving forward in the Veterinary world, full of new and exciting technology to aid the equine industry.
With no horses in my life during my “brood mare” days, I can honestly say it must be a disease in the blood! It wasn’t long before I longed for some kind of “equine interest” and challenge .
Off to France to import Peyres Catori Cat in 2008 and off to Austria to collect and import Princesse Pascale in 2009!
My foundation stock to build upon, Redheart Appaloosas today.

It’s commonly thought Appaloosa’s who are homozygous for the Leopard Print gene are visually seen as fewspot’s with 100% white patterning to snowcap’s, with about 30% white patterning. There are many variations in-between but Appaloosas with less than 20% white patterning levels may be very difficult to verify visually, their genotype can sometimes exceed the expectations of their phenotype. […]

Meet Ghost, a perfect little filly born from two amazingly bred Appaloosas, the sire RHA Sully Fire Image bred at Red Hills Appaloosa, Oregon, USA (FPD: 100% […]
Ever wondered how this: Becomes this: Redheart Pascalius aka Evee, is black (EE aa), she has inherited one copy of the Leopard Complex Gene (LP/lp), she has characteristics. She did not inherit the Pattern gene (PATN1) therefore we would never be able to see her spots if she had any because LP and Pattern […]
A horse with two copies of the Leopard Complex gene, a huge asset in the breeding world of Appaloosas because they will pass on one LP gene 100% of the time, thus their progeny will be Characteristic. Additionally, LP/LP horses without question will be affected by Congenital stationary Night blindness (CSNB). Over the years, we’ve […]
