The third show of 2016, held by the Appaloosa Horse Club UK. An abundance of classes open to and supported by ApHC UK members at Rodbaston Equestrian Centre.
Wonderful to see Appaloosa horses from all ApHC UK registers, the USA register (A), the British register (B), the Characteristic register (C) and the Part-Bred register (PB).

What an end……
Redheart Pascalius has done us proud again, this time competing at Rodbaston Equestrian Centre, an Open Gala show organised by the High Horse Showing Society. This successful event had the most amazing atmosphere with a huge number of competitors. The weather was glorious and Evee gave an excellent performance against quality horses.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t stay for the Championship due to fencing duties at home. One of the many delights of the day, being awarded a “Wild Card” to compete in an evening Championship class, we did the honourable duty of declining but what an achievement for us.
Not the “wild” day Evee had at Netley Hall a few weeks back!
One of the main highlights of the show season is the Appaloosa Horses Club UK National show. A two-day event that caters for every Appaloosa enthusiast.
This year we took our two GAP 5 horses, Redheart Pascalius and DFR Patahas Redheart. I participated with both horses in the Appaloosa Horse Club classes while Crystal participated both horses in the Appaloosa Horses Club UK classes. On this occasion, backed up by a young lady Amilie, who has caught the Appaloosa “bug”.
Another wonderful day showing, we both achieved a few awards and congratulate all the other competitors.

We look for a reason, we search for answers but sometimes we fail to find either?
Today was one of those days, first class was a challenge, Evee had her own problem to deal with and she forgot to tell me about it!
A real sting in her behind? Perhaps?
After a little chat outside the ring, she composed herself and returned to that sweet lovable character we know !
Taking three firsts and two seconds home…
Since we have concentrated on our yearlings over the past few weeks we decided to give Redheart Pascalius a few weeks break. She been grazing 24 / 7 and certainly looks like she has come up in the withers as she slowly grows into her head….Not to mention the “roundness” of her body!
To get back into the swing of showing, we decided to take her to a local show, South Staffs with no pressure. Very surprised to find a few friends had attended which made our day!
Evee was quite “soppy” today!
Maybe something to do with my daughters friend Amelie, who adores Evee.
A quiet and relaxing day, getting our eye back in after a nice break……..

Except, Redheart Pascalius and I were proud to be part of the British Appaloosa Society‘s 40th Anniversary.

The FOREIGN BREED SOCIETY is a showing society for all Foreign Breeds in the UK.
Their shows cater for many different breeds such as Morgan’s, Percheron, Comtois, Lipizzaner, Fjords, Arab’s, Saddlebred’s, Paso Fino, Andalucian’s, Lusitano’s, Friesian’s, Falabella’s, American Miniatures and Shetlands, Icelandic, Haflinger and of course the Appaloosa etc. The Society also include part bred’s so in a “nut shell” the class’s are “open” or can be breed specific and offer something from the inexperienced young stock to the experienced equines covering both in hand or ridden disciplines.
So you can see why these shows appeal to us here at Redheart Appaloosas, not only do we qualify for more than one class, ensuring we gain any opportunity to improve our young horses experience but we get to meet some very interesting participants with some quite rare breeds.
Today we took Redheart Pascalius to Only Equestrian Complex for the Foreign Breeds Society Championship Horse Show. We were placed in all three classes, Foreign Breeds Youngstock, Home Produced and Appaloosa.
We qualified for the Purebred In Hand Championship and with a strong line up.
The Appaloosa took Reserve Champion behind the well deserved Champion Asalla, a Fjord.

Our fourth show of 2016 gave Redheart Pascalius her first Championship of 2016
The Appaloosa Horse Club UK Spring Show at Merrist Wood Equestrian Centre gave us a few classes to enter. Last years event resulted in Evee getting loose and our early departure with a few minor cuts and bruises. Thankfully this year, it was a different result. We had a “good” day in the ribbons and the highlight was qualifying for the USA Open Championship. With an exceptional level of quality in this Championship we can only be honoured to have won against such competition. We are very delighted with our home-bred filly!
Redheart Pascalius is certainly starting to bloom…..
As Redheart Pascalius 3-year old showing campaign gets under way, our third show of 2016 was The World Breed class held at Tabley Park on Bank Holiday Monday.
We headed North passing queues of traffic on the M5 & M6 heading South and on our return journey home we past queues of traffic heading North. We certainly planned this trip well!
Delighted with her performance although she did get a bit upset by another competitor who was a stallion….thought she would have been quite familiar with a stallion “shouting / screaming” with Hevans EV Catorrius at home?
Note….do not go showing down South on a Bank Holiday Monday……
